How much would a fifty pence each way bet placed at 33 to 1 pay?

Assuming you place a 50p each way bet = £1 total bet

If the baby wins you will receive the win portion of the bet + the place portion of the bet

= £17 + £8.75p = £25.75p

If the baby comes 2nd 3rd or 4th (depending on the race it may only be the 2nd OR 2nd and 3rd OR 2nd 3rd + 4th that qualifies you for a payout)

You will probably get a quarter of the odds so that gives you

= £8.75p

Horse Racing Betting, The Risk Free Way

This is one of my favourite articles, it is basically an arbitrage system software that places a high bet with one bookmaker lets say a back at 8/1 and then lays the same bet with another bookmaker at lets say 6/1, the software then greens up the difference and you win if the horse losses or wins the race!

The main problem i have found with this kind of betting is that quite a few people know about this now so the difference in bookmaker prices are quite small. meaning you don’t make much unless you place a significant bet.

The problem with putting on a large bet is that if the market price moves significantly while you are in the middle of placing your arb bets, you no longer have a win win but a lose lose scenario.

This is my view anyhow.
